As translation activity continues to be in the unorganized sector, it has been found that the translation clients are finding it difficult to locate translators to cater to their needs. The Institute of Translation Studies has discovered that on account of non-availability of information on translators, the clients are not able get their translation assignments executed on time. Besides, the translation jobs are not getting distributed evenly.
		On the other hand, most translators are not in a position to market their services as the same is very expensive. Thus while some translators are overburdened with translation work, some translators are not able to obtain enough work to suit their capacity. Further, the uncertainty of business has deterred the translators from improving their quality of translations. For the same reason translators are not able to specialize in any particular type of translations.
		In its endeavor to bring professionalism in to the field of translation, the Institute of Translation Studies has decided to bring out a directory of translators. This directory would be initially put on its website so that the translators can be sourced freely. Further, the Institute would also publish a booklet of translators and supply the same to user organizations. The Institute would also be marketing the services of these translators all over India to get them a better exposure.
		At a later stage, the Institute has also planned to go in to rating of translators on the basis of a methodology being evolved for the purpose. This would go a long way in helping the translators to improve their skills continuously while at the same time, such a facility would give a choice for the translation users.

		All translators may note that the cost of the entire operations will be distributed proportionately. This cost is being worked out. The same will be conveyed to all the respondents separately.
